The Man Behind the Mission Chef Jerry Cangemi isn't just a chef — he's a weight loss warrior who discovered that the key to sustainable weight loss isn't about eating less, it's about eating right. Growing up in an Italian American household, Jerry learned early that food is more than sustenance — it's love, it's culture, it's life. But he also saw firsthand how traditional comfort foods could lead to weight struggles. In 1998, after years of culinary training and personal research, Jerry developed the 911 Diet Plan — an "emergency" approach for people who had tried everything else and failed. The secret? Born Jerome John Cangemi, Chef Jerry Cangemi Began his culinary exploits in Elmont, a long island bakery named Sally’s Bakery.
After this Jerry became a dishwasher/sous chef at a gourmet restaurant in Garden City Long Island named, Turf & Field.
His next venture was to open the busiest McDonald’s restaurant in Franklin Sq. Long Island.
After moving to Las Vegas Nevada, Jerry opened the first Gourmet Food truck of its kind, using a mobile radio phone.
The big story comes when Jerry bought a failing restaurant on West Sahara Blvd in Las Vegas. Vinces Supper Club.
As the Supper club progressed, Jerry changed the name to Cangemi’s Supper Club.
Jerry was brought out to Paso Robles California, to become the chef at a gourmet jam and Jelly company called, Running Deer Ranch. Enrolled at Chapman university, he earned his certification in microbiology.
In 1998, chef Jerry developed the 911 Diet Plan.
Called to Orlando Florida, Jerry opened an office culinary school, teaching and giving lectures about low fat cooking to hundreds of men and women who were retired missionaries. He also became the Executive Chef at a restaurant called Two Fat Chefs. Chef Jerry was inducted as the 59th master chef in the world.
After his apprenticeship, Jerry moved to Palm Springs California and became the chef manager of the renowned Betty Ford rehabilitation center.
Jerry’s next project, moving to Dallas Texas, he became the lead teacher in an accredited culinary school. Aims culinary academy. He earned the title of: Certified Chef Instructor.
Going back to California, Jerry re-opened the 911 Diet Plan, serving the southern California region, delivering gourmet low fat meals to prominent clients.
Jerry now resides in Boulder City Nevada, A few miles up the hill from Las Vegas.
Jerry, sixty nine years of age, has come out of retirement due to the health issues provoking mankind to very serious health issues plaguing humanity.
